⋆ ★ ⋆ Waffle's Art Gallery ⋆ ★ ⋆

Below, you can find a bunch of art of mine, dating back a couple of years! Alongside each piece, I'll include a little blurb explaining a bit of the design process, or just general info. Art pieces are displayed in chronological order, with the newest stuff at the top. Have fun!

⋆ Kookoo Squad ⋆

Date: April 18, 2026

My obsession with Kookoo knows no bounds, and led to me making my own design for a more expressive Kookoo. I kept its face and everything, and didn't actually want to give it a body, so I just gave it a hat, tie, and some hands. I made the gloves and inner mouth an indigo color to reference how Kookoo's arm in-game is ever so slightly purple. It was terrible timing for me to get obsessed with this character right before all that drama happened, but I honestly don't really care about it all too much.

⋆ Bubble Swarm ⋆

Date: March 20, 2026

A piece I made after watching episode 8 of The Amazing Digital Circus, since I thought Bubble's sudden personality shift was really interesting and kinda funny. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I really like how I did the bubble-y effect for lack of a better word. And it was obviously fun to draw Bubble making a bunch of different expressions, too. I accidentally forgot to remove the eye shine from the bottom Bubble before posting it to TikTok, but honestly I think it's fine as-is.

⋆ Doors...again ⋆

Date: February 21, 2026

A remake of an older art piece (in fact, the oldest art piece on here), featuring me and a friend's OCs in the Roblox game, Doors. I decided to give the sepia palette a second go-around; this time I used 6 persistent colors rather than using a finicky layer type that caused certain colors to appear washed out. I did quite a bit better with the lighting effects this time around, I guess that's what 3 years (holy shit) will do to ya. I also added a cool screen effect almost similar to scanlines, which I thought fit well.

⋆ ⋆ 2025 ⋆ ⋆

⋆ Flux in the Stars ⋆

Date: July 3, 2025

A smaller art piece I did for Art Fight, but in a unique style this time. MarbarMars' OC Flux has a very childish nature to them, so I decided to go with a scribble-y look resembling the crayon artwork of a child. It was a very quick piece, but I really like the aesthetic here. Also, big W to Marley for making a shroob OC, super based.

⋆ WELCOME TO THE SHOW ⋆

Date: July 3, 2025

The biggest piece I've done so far for this year's Art Fight! Also my only Mass Attack so far, so that's cool. It features a bunch of people's Databrawl OCs, a Roblox game I've been a big fan of since around 2018 or so. While initially only intended to include the 2 characters seen in the front, as well as the smiling cutout; I decided to throw in some more guys to fill in the background space since it looked a little empty. Creating the reflections on the floor was fun and, while not visible, the cutout's reflection is actually a slightly earlier version with fewer teeth. As I'm writing this I'm realizing I should probably start signing my art. Huh.

⋆ The Great(?) Robo-Duo ⋆

Date: July 2, 2025

My first piece for the 2025 Crystals vs Fossils Art Fight! I thought it would be fun to make my first piece this year be a repeat of my final one from last year, kinda as a way to show how my art has improved. This time alongside Timsty, rather than Goofball, is Tompest; another of Glitchoftheinternet's characters. She specified that Timsty is made of copper, something I neglected to really display last year, so I made extra sure that it was clear this time around.

⋆ My Pokemon Violet Team ⋆

Date: March 25, 2025

An art piece I made just after beating Pokemon Violet for the first time. It took me about 4 hours (the longest I've spent on an individual piece to date) and I gotta say, I love the result. I hadn't drawn most of these Pokemon before, so it took some figuring out to get them looking right in my style. I went with a harsh lighting style for this piece (similar to some old art of mine), coupled with various glows and shines to make everything pop. I tried to give each team member something unique (Skeledirge's fire rendering, Wigglytuff's sparkles, and Eelektross's electric glow), but I could only figure out so many unique rendering quirks lol. Each Pokemon also has a slight glow to show off their Tera type; most noticable for Skeledirge and Slowbro, and hard to see on Palossand and Eelektross due to their Tera types being Ghost. I plan to continue this trend for later playthrough teams, probably.

⋆ ⋆ 2024 ⋆ ⋆

⋆ Aqua Aero Axolotl ⋆

Date: September 9, 2024

One of my favorite art pieces to date. Inspired by the rise of Y2K aesthetics like Frutiger Aero, I wanted to make a piece with a similar look. Lots of shine, bloom, and glows are sort of the signatures of this style, and I think I pulled them off pretty well. The use of water, bubbles, clouds, and lots of blue, are all important to the look as well. The water-filled, plasticy gills are inspired by common Frutiger Aero imagery like the aqua mouse. This is actually my second attempt at this concept; basically just a more well-executed version of a piece from april that is not currently listed here.

A modified version of this piece, without the axolotl, was used in version 1 of this site for the Aqua theme! The modern Light and Dark themes are based on the Aqua theme as well!

⋆ Smiley Bots ⋆

Date: June 31, 2024

The final attack I made for the Seafoam vs Stardust Artfight this year, featuring my OC Goofball (the red and green one) and Glitchoftheinternet's Timsty. I thought their similarities in both being robots with giant grins made them a perfect duo to draw together, and I think the piece came out well. The blue outlines didn't really turn out as good as I was hoping though, so if I probably would go with something else looking back on it. They were kinda meant to be reminiscent of the Mario & Luigi Dream Team style, but I didn't really use enough shading for it to be convincing.

⋆ Luigi Logic! ⋆

Date: June 19, 2024

A piece I made after seeing a Mario & Luigi Brothership trailer, which revealed the "Luigi Logic" mechanic. Luigi being my favorite character ever, I just knew I had to draw my own take. I haven't been consistent with my way of drawing Luigi (I still haven't figured it out), but I think this is my best attempt so far. I used a lot of soft shading for this one, along with colored outlines, to sorta create my own take on the Dream Team art style. I tried that a lot around this time, and to be honest I was never really able to do it.

⋆ ⋆ 2023 ⋆ ⋆

⋆ Bubble Flower Waffle ⋆

Date: September 2, 2023

One of my OCs, Waffle, using the bubble flower powerup from Mario Wonder. I drew this after the game was first revealed, alongside the bubble flower itself. I don't really know exactly what I was doing with the lumpy pink-purple background (I think it was an attempt to replicate the pink sky levels from Wonder?). The bubble shading isn't my best either, but it turned out well enough for a quick piece. Also the lack of movement on Waffle's cloak makes him look like a block lol.

⋆ The Gang in DOORS ⋆

Date: February 16, 2023

A commission from a friend of mine featuring his OC, Zor, with a couple of my own. The scene is inspired by the Roblox game DOORS, and features Screech, one of its monsters. I went with a sepiatone palette for this one, which is the only time I've really experimented with that kind of palette before. It's pretty old by this point, so it's far from my best work, but I'd say I did the idea justice well enough.
