So I just watched the movie by that guy
you might know him his name is Markiplier
So yeah I went to see Mark's new movie today and it was so fucking good like its crazy. I don't mean to glaze him too much or anything but this was genuinely the best way they could have adapted Iron Lung into a movie I think. The scary atmosphere is very much there, and new details like the radiation emitted by the camera add even more dread than was already there. I wasn't too familiar with Iron Lung's story before having watched the movie; I've only ever watched a regular playthrough without the computer shenanigans, so I'm not sure exactly how accurate the movie is to the established lore (though the creator literally helped make the movie so I don't think it really matters).
Regardless, the movie was very well-paced and I even forgot for a while that this "Simon" guy I was watching was the funny Bite of '87 guy. It's a shame the iconic Iron Lung frog wasn't used, but its understandable given that the design probably wouldn't translate well into a fully-fledged horror movie (though I would have appreciated a reference). One thing I was not expecting was for Simon to tear his whole fuckin' arm off??? I was wondering for a while where the R-rating came from and I guess that's it lol. I also loved the bit right at the end where the movie cuts to an outside view of the sub being eaten by the big thing. The sudden shift from only seeing the outside world in still images to a fully animated scene really hit for me.
Great work to Mark and the entire Iron Lung team! They all did such amazing work and I hope (fingers crossed) that they try something like this again in the future.
Happy first post of February everyone :3 (I say this as if there'll be more posts this month. Who knows)
