I Actually Watched Elio

So yeah, I actually watched it. A lot of people have been dogging on it for looking "too similar" to Turning Red and Luca visually, and Disney advertised it like absolute ass, but I watched the movie anyways. And I can say I am honestly a really big fan of the movie. This won't be an in-depth review or anything, but I really like how they took the idea of feeling alone and meshed it with the alien "are we alone in the universe" concept. The movie does a really good job portraying its characters and their fears and I think part of that is the fact that they weren't afraid to make it a long movie. The thing clocks in at 1 hour 50 minutes, which is pretty long for a Disney kids movie, but it gave them plenty of time to develop their characters and include some more somber scenes alongside the typical goofy space adventure ones. Don't want to get too gushy over it, but I just liked the movie way more than I was expecting to. Also big W to the character designers, they did good on all the different alien guys. I'll give Elio an 8.5/10. That's a pretty good rating, for all you Youtube movie review people who think that 7/10 means a movie is bad, by the way.
